“Self-reverence, self-knowledge, self-control, — These three alone lead life to sovereign power.”

— Alfred Lord Tennyson, “Oenone” (1833)

Which way is wrong?
 Which way is right?
Who’s going to say I’m losing my mind?

I always wonder about the limits of our minds, how much we can know about ourselves and how we can increase our self-knowledge. I started to search this topic and found a famous writer and social psychologist who is Timothy Wilson. His searches are exactly about the topics I am curious about. So, I started to read Strangers to Ourselves.

At the same time, I was reading The Glass Bead Game written by Hermann Hesse who received the Nobel Prize in literature. The importance of this book to me is that Knecht’s dilemmas, conflicts with himself, a kind of self-discovery inspired me; so, I have really queried and tried to understand myself. However, I am aware that the process of self-discovery and increasing self-knowledge is not a thing I can say one day “Yeah, I found myself. I know who I am.”. This is a long and complicated process and actually, it continues for a lifetime. However, in this profile, I want to start a series so that I can write about the things I have learned in small parts and how this has affected me.

I hope you enjoy it..
